On the occasion of the centennial school anniversary of Tsang Pik Shan (Sung Lan) Secondary School this year, the local esteemed organization of Chinese cultural relics collectors, known as "Xi Zhen Hui She," generously loaned a collection of over 70 precious artifacts ranging from the Stone Age to the 20th century for exhibition within the school premises. The opening ceremony of this exhibition took place on 15 November 2023, at Tsang Pik Shan (Sung Lan) Secondary School. The school hall was filled with the entire school members, as well as distinguished guests from various sectors, including Dr. CHOI Yuk Lin, JP, the Secretary for Education; Mr. YU Wai Shing, Frederick, JP, the District Officer (Sha Tin); Mr. CHENG Yik Man, Mark, the Assistant District Officer (Sha Tin); Chief Superintendent LEUNG Tsz Kin, Percy, the District Commander (Sha Tin); Principal CHEUNG Chui Fan, the President of the Sha Tin District Kindergarten Heads Association. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant.
In addition to the visitation by the students of the school, this exhibition was also open to students from several primary and secondary schools in the Sha Tin district. Guided tours were conducted by our own students who had received professional training to explain the key artifacts, and the response from the students was enthusiastic.
The ceremony was opened by a drone performance, followed by a welcoming speech from Ms. WONG Jan Yue Regina, the School Supervisor. Subsequently, three esteemed guests, Prof. LEE Chack Fan, GBS, SBS, JP, Mr. LI Kung Fan, and Mr. CHENG Yik Man, Mark, the Assistant District Officer (Sha Tin), delivered speeches. Following that, each guest took the stage to preside over the centennial inauguration ceremony. They used a key to turn on the light towers, symbolizing the wish for Tsang Pik Shan (Sung Lan) Secondary School to embark on another century of educational endeavours, striving to establish a school that values both student development and growth.
The centennial ceremony featured a diverse range of performances, including dance, choral verse speaking, marching band performances, juggling, Cantonese opera, teacher-student ensemble, and teacher-student choir. These performances showcased the exceptional talents of our school's teachers and students. In celebration of the school's 100th anniversary, both teachers and students worked together, dedicating significant effort and time to practice. Their outstanding performances elevated the atmosphere to its pinnacle, with the entire venue resonating with continuous applause and cheers.
