Series Of Centennial School Anniversary Activities: Lesson Observation and Evaluation Event
Date: 06/05/2024
The Centennial School Anniversary Lesson Observation and Evaluation Event for our school concluded successfully on 6 and 13 May 2024. This was our school's first time organizing such an event, and we received enthusiastic support from numerous teachers from other schools, with over 100 colleagues attending.
On 6 May, our school opened three classrooms for observation and evaluation, with each classroom having a different theme. Assistant Principal Mr. Yeung Ting Fai showcased how to establish classroom routines in a bid to enhance the learning effectiveness of Form 1 students in English Language; Mr. Chow Kim Ho’s Form 3 Visual Arts lesson demonstrated strategies to cater for learner diversity and augment students' learning effectiveness in Visual Arts; Mr. Chor Kam Fai applied e-learning to improve the learning effectiveness of Form 5 students in Tourism and Hospitality.
On 13 May, our school offered two observation classes. Mr. Shum Cho Tak's Form 1 History lesson focused on the theme of Islam, putting into practice values education in the History subject; Ms. Tse Wing Yan utilised classroom activities to enhance the learning effectiveness of Form 5 students in English Language.
Over the two-day evaluation event, we had the honor of inviting Dr. Tse Kwan Choi, Thomas, a professor from the Department of Educational Administration and Policy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Mr. Patrick Leung, an assistant lecturer from the Centre for Applied English Studies at the University of Hong Kong; Mr. Lai Chi Wing, the Curriculum Development Officer of Personal, Social and Humanities Education Section at the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau; and Mr. Yeung Siu Wing, a teaching consultant from the Department of Education Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University, to serve as evaluation guests and provide feedback in post-lesson conference. We are immensely grateful to the teachers from other schools for their valuable insights and contributions, as we strive to create a professional learning community for mutual exchange.
